Teleport With ‘Periscope’!
What if we told you that you could teleport to the place of your choice, anywhere, anytime? Well, with the ‘Periscope’ app, this is almost true! This app was designed to allow users to watch live broadcasting of videos from anywhere around the world and was first introduced for iPhone iOS. When you broadcast a live video or just go live, your friends and followers will be notified instantly. They can then join, comment and send ‘hearts’ in real time similar to the idea of Facebook.
What is more exciting is the thought of being able to see happenings live which gives you the feeling of having teleported to the world you are watching live. Periscope allows you enable you to replay videos which have a life span of 24 hours. So your followers can watch your videos over and over again to their heart’s content. They can also express their views via giving away ‘hearts’ or commenting on the video.
The latest update from the app allows users to replay live streams instantly without having to wait for the video to upload. Yet another feature allows you to just tweet the live broadcast you are watching. If you wish to make your broadcast visible to only a set of people just click on the lock icon and choose the list of people to whom you wish to broadcast the video to. Get notifications from people you know based on your twitter account followers. You can always follow or unfollow people anytime and get to know when they go live!
Periscope allows you to keep a count of the number of hearts your live broadcast gathers. If your video manages to collect a higher number of hearts then it gets crowned as the ‘most-loved’ video on Periscope.
The periscope was initially launched for iOS but this May 2015, the joy of live broadcasting spread to the Android users as well. For Android users with version 4.4 (KitKat) and above, this app comes with a few more awesome features.
The app carries an in-vogue texture inspired design which gives it a rich feeling on the Android. You get notifications to see when somebody you follow on twitter puts up a live video on Periscope. A share notification feature allows you to get notifications when somebody you follows share’s another person’s broadcast video.
The Periscope Android version comes with a ‘Resume’ option to allow users to resume watching a broadcast from where they left. Now messages and calls will not cut short your live streaming experience.
Be it your daughter’s first walk or the sun rising at Bryce Canyon, capture it live and show it your people.
Sharing your lives precious moments, live, is now just an app away!
