Whatsapp All Set to Support Video Calling!

Whatsappers! This is definitely a piece of delightful news for you all. Whatsapp is all geared up to launch the video calling feature real soon. Sources reveal Whatsapp has been brainstorming on this for quite some time now and has been testing its video calling service with its UI being an almost clone of the voice calling service.

The leaked screenshots of the testing revealed that the user will have an option to select between the front and rear facing cameras apart from putting the video chat on mute. Adding icing to the cake is the news that the messaging giant is reportedly testing a multi-tab UI which will allow the users to navigate between conversations with great ease!

The well known messaging app is yet to make an official announcement on the date of launch of the video calling feature and multi-tab UI. Whatsapp launched its voice calling feature about a year ago with criticisms over the voice call quality. In the initial phase of launch, users had to encounter issues like delayed voice transmissions, frequent call cuts and of course poor voice quality.

But the subsequent updates from Whatsapp had made sure that the app’s voice calling feature is devoid of all these technical hitches.

The voice calling feature was rolled out for Android and gradually launched for iOS, Blackberry and Windows. However, at present, the 2.12.16.2 version of Whatsapp for iPhone is being used to beta test the video calling service before any word is sent out in confirmation.

The messaging app has managed to accumulate 900 million active users as on September 2015. The video calling feature had been missing for a while in Whatsapp in comparison to other messaging services in the market.

With the launch of the video calling feature, Whatsapp will have hooked the anchor in the competent app market showing to all that this messaging app is here to stay for long…longer than we can probably anticipate!
