For all those who have been feeling confined, Twitter has a little surprise! The popular social interaction platform will be extending its character limits to 10, 000 from the trademark 140. The decision came in lines with the fact that Twitter is looking forward to expanding its user base and make it more realistic to the end users. As for now the character limit is 10K, however, an official word is yet to be sent out in this regard. Since Twitter claims that there might be a variation in the character limitation. Also, the feature will probably hit the floors by the end of Q1 2016.

Although the timeline is yet to be affirmed by the social messaging platform.  According to sources, Twitter is testing an upgraded version of its product which will display a 140 characters tweet with an option to expand and view the remaining characters of the text which could run up to 10k characters. The button will conceal the remaining characters of the content that will be displayed once the button is clicked. However, Twitter is working closely with its analytical team to keep checking on spamming issues which might get rampant with this feature roll out.

The company is keen on retaining its original design. However, voting on this is under progress. Moreover, Twitter will be limiting the number of users being mentioned for a tweet. Talks on bringing a character expansion have been in the pipeline for quite some time now. With sources revealing that this feature will be soon out for experimenting, Twitter is making sure to keep a check on the potential threats that this launch might bring along. So it’s making sure everything is in place before this feature hits the screens.  Twitter has roped in its technical expertise to analyze every nook and corner of this feature launch before unveiling it to the users. The company is working towards expanding its user base and with this feature roll-out, things may probably work in their favor!
