Google Maps to Launch Offline Search and Navigation in India

The tech giants have been working on this for quite some time now. Google is all set to introduce the offline navigation and search feature in the Google maps app. The company has been gradually rolling out this functionality and with the new set of improvements in place…Google will be launching this feature in India, soon!  In regions with bleak internet connections, locating your next right turn should not be a herculean task. Therefore Google maps will be allowing you to navigate and search for places even while you are offline. So that the next time you hit the road, Google will make sure you will reach the destination without any hassles.

This feature is all set to be launched in India wherein Google map users will get to search and navigate through locations and places without having to depend on the internet. So that users in India will find it much easier to find their way out even when connectivity fails. Users in India can get quick-info about the places, look through the reviews and move around places without having to connect to the internet.  Google maps will give back to the user, full version access to the maps when they are online again. Only the area maps will be downloaded to the device when the user connects via Wi-Fi.

To access this feature all you need to do is to open the Google maps app…slide from left and open offline maps. Tap on the ‘+’ button and enter the area/location you want to search for. Hit search and get it downloaded to your device instantly!

However, users will have to download the saved maps again after 30 days in order to ensure precision and since Google updates its maps after the said period. When you download the saved map again onto your device, you will have the updated version of the map on it.  As of now, the offline feature is available for Android users only. However, the tech giant has promised an iOS launch very soon!
