Facebook Stories App Feature: How to Add User Generated Photos, Videos to Your Story

Facebook is all set to roll out its next jubilant feature, introducing ‘The Facebook Stories’.

All your memories could be made into a collection of photos and videos that can be viewed up to 2 times and then made to automatically disappear in flips after 24 hours. Just like the recent new development with the WhatsApp status.

Picking up the feature groove from Snapchat, facebook devices it’s own storyboard. Facebook’s in-app camera, allows users to try different fun overlay filters, as well add geolocation tags to their photos and videos.

Unlocking the ‘Facebook story’ Features:

  • Newer upgrade to the Facebook’s in-app camera with dozens of snap chat like filters, also with an exclusive include on ‘face masks’ from Hollywood.
  • Facebook also allows users to send Images and videos to their friends, like a short story. Sharing memories is made simpler!

‘The Working’ of Facebook stories

Facebook picks up the same outlook of its antecedent “Instagram”. The Facebook Stories appear at the top of the News Feed.

Your friends’ story appears inside circles at the top; Click them to watch stories your friends got.

Like the New roll out on the WhatsApp status, Users could leave a direct message as a reply, while you are on their story.

Building a Facebook story:

Step-1: Get on to the Camera

To create an interesting facebook story, get on to the camera! To access it, swipe to the right of the Facebook mobile app.

Step-2: Devise your Contents

The Facebook users can share both Videos and Images to the Story. Open your in-app camera record a video or snap a few pictures.

To add an extra embellish to your content you could use the given range of lenses or the filters.

Hold and tap the center button on the camera to snap quick pictures and hold it long for recording a video. The videos can be 20 seconds long.

Adding Effects:

Primarily there are two effects on the in-app camera screen:

  1. One adds the effects of masks, frames, other camera filters and effects. This is found at the bottom-left corner of the app.
  2. Next is a downward facing pencil – that allows you to doodle over your image, with the color of your choice.

Step-3: Share Your Story

With your witty brains working great, in creating your story, the next step would be to upload it to the storyboard and share with the others.

To upload:

  • Tap on the center arrow icon
  • Choose ‘Your Story’
  • Tap on the send button in the bottom right-hand corner

There you go! You have shared your facebook story. Your story stays vibrant for 24 hours and then disappear!

The stories do not appear in the Newsfeed or the Users timeline by default, but Facebook also provides an option to share if they’d want to.

Isn’t every day a new opportunity to make and create memories?

Intent Behind Devising the Facebook Stories?

Throbbing part of Facebook’s growth has been on the User-generated contents. However, the sharing of user pertained content, declined about 21% between 2015 – 2016.

Many users on Facebook tend to show more interests to share content rather than creating their own. This issue from the Bloomberg reports said to be a “content collapse” to the working structure of Facebook.

Over 1.7 billion users use the Facebook mobile application and with the introduction of the Facebook storyboards, Users would tend to share more of personalized and User-generated content.
