Taking a step further in User Behaviour Analysis, Facebook will be mapping human population data for analysing human habitation. The tech giant has pitched in its Artificial intelligence team to determine how the human population has been distributed across the globe. The reason behind this is to understand which connectivity solution will work well for different areas of the human population. Facebook has been taking user behaviour quite seriously and has been working around it to enhance user experience.

Areas across the world which are yet to be connected by the internet has grabbed the attention of the tech giant. Analysing the human population in such areas will allow Facebook to narrow-in on the connectivity solutions which will best-suit these tracts.

Facebook had roped in the company’s AI team which had quite a herculean task ahead of them. However this was supposed to be the most close-to-accurate strategy for analysing human habitation.

As the first step the AI analysed the satellite-captured images of around 20 countries which spanned over 21.6 million sq.ft of land.

To track down human settlements, the AI implemented image-recognition strategies to filter out man-made constructions. Using complex algorithms & AI mechanisms, Facebook was successful in identifying human habitation.

Then the census data was integrated to disperse population information across the various locations of the tract. With such state-of-the-art intelligence Facebook was able to achieve its goal of capturing human population information laid out across the globe.

This crucial data will be sent out to the public by the end of this year. This data will also aid in soci-economic analysis and understanding potential risks involved during natural calamities. Apart from this an all new populous dataset will go public later this year. With high-intelligence drones and sophisticated innovations, Facebook is all set to take user-experience to the very next level of excellence.
