Chrome OS All Set to Merge with Android
This news has been making rounds on the internet for quite some time now. According to sources, Google is all set to merge its Chrome OS with Android give birth to yet-to-be-named ‘hybrid’ operating system. After a few crucial brainstorming sessions, the idea to merge the two have surfaced and is still on paper. Chrome OS and Android have their own potential which makes them unique in their own ways.
Now the idea is to merge the power of these two operating systems and deliver a high-end user experience like never before! The Chrome OS, though feature rich, seems to lack the touch of applications. Over the last few years, a few handy features like offline playback have been added to the OS as well. However, with this convergence, Chrome OS will get to experience the advantages of the apps.
Likewise, Android is the heartbeat of millions of mobile devices and comes with a plethora of apps. However, one thing to note is that Android is a step behind when it comes delivering great user experience on large screen devices. Moreover, the security element of Android is not a very strong factor to play beneficiary to this merge.
Over the last few months, Android has been struggling to fix security breaches and make the platform more robust. So with the convergence, these issues will supposedly be addressed. The core idea is to extend Android to make them run on laptops. The hybrid OS will be more of a newer version of Android. However, Chrome OS will still be alive post the convergence.
The official release has been planned for 2017 however teasers would be out early next year. The concept of convergence sounds exciting and seems to be a curious attempt by the tech giant.
With its launch, we will come to know whether Google got it right this time as well. Till then the wait will be an anxious one for all!
